From July 14th to July 24th, Christian Schirnhofer, an after-sales trainer from the headquarters of Berndorf in Austria, conducted a 11-day series of training on steel belt maintenance at Shanghai Naut Steel Belts Co., LTD. The training has entered its final stage. This final course focused on the practical operation techniques of manual and automatic welding of carbon steel strips. All participants completed the series of skills learning, and the training came to a successful conclusion.
At the course site, Christian carefully distinguished the applicable scenarios and operation norms of manual welding and automatic welding based on the characteristics of carbon steel belts. Continuing the refined control standards of Berndorf, it emphasizes the detailed requirements such as a clean working environment, standardized weld seam alignment, and unified alignment of maintenance tools with the headquarters' standards. It compares the advantages and disadvantages, as well as the process difficulties of the two welding methods, and explains the causes and prevention plans of welding defects.
After the theoretical explanation was completed, the practical operation session began. The trainees took turns to practice manual and automatic welding of carbon steel strips. The trainer provided one-on-one follow-up throughout the process, correcting operational issues such as welding angles, travel speeds, and molten pool control in real time, and guiding everyone to complete the entire steel strip welding process in a standardized manner.
After each group of practical operations is completed, Christian conducts tests and calculations on the samples, checks all the process data, and determines whether the welded products meet the standards. On-site review of the problems with the non-conforming samples was conducted, and the optimization and adjustment plans were explained to ensure that each trainee understood the data standards and mastered the basis for quality assessment.
After several days of step-by-step learning, the trainees successively completed the full set of courses including steel belt crack repair, trapezoidal patching process, and carbon steel belt welding. They systematically mastered the global unified steel belt repair standardization system of Berndorf, and the standardization of repair operations and quality control capabilities were comprehensively enhanced.
The 11-day on-site specialized training has officially come to an end.
