To unify the global after-sales maintenance standards for steel belts, improve the front-line maintenance techniques, and strengthen the practical operation capabilities of the technical team, on July 14th, Christian Schirnhofer, a steel belt after-sales trainer from the headquarters of Berndorf Band, arrived at Shanghai Naut Steel Belts Co., Ltd. and officially began an 11-day specialized technical training. The training period will last until July 24th.
This training focuses on the core techniques of steel belt repair. The course covers three core sections: fault analysis of cracks in multi-material steel belts, standardized patching and repair processes, and optimization and upgrading of weld seam treatment. The entire training process adheres to Berndorf's technical philosophy of striving for excellence and strictly controlling details. Christian Schirnhofer particularly emphasized multiple standardized detail requirements: The grinding of weld seams must follow a unified and regular direction to prevent random grinding from causing uneven force on the steel strip. The welding operation area must always be kept clean. Dust and impurities will directly affect the firmness of the weld seam. The model, specification and usage norms of on-site maintenance tools must all be consistent with the standards of Berndorf Band headquarters to ensure uniform maintenance quality from the source.
During the teaching process, the trainer combined real fault cases of steel belt operation and maintenance from all over the world, compared the differentiated repair plans for steel belt damage under different materials and usage conditions, and disassembled one by one the common pain points in the industry such as weld cracking, short repair service life, and poor surface flatness of steel belts, fully conveying the strict detail control standards of the headquarters to the on-site trainees.
After completing the theoretical study, the trainees were divided into groups to carry out practical operation exercises. The practical operation session focused on practicing the pre-treatment of steel belt cracks, patching and filling, and grinding and shaping of weld seams. Christian Schirnhofer provided one-on-one on-site guidance throughout the process, closely monitoring every operational detail. He promptly corrected any non-standard operations in grinding techniques, welding environments, and tool usage, answered questions on the spot, and made immediate corrections to ensure that each employee thoroughly understood the detailed norms and mastered the standardized maintenance procedures of the headquarters. The technical backbones who participated in the training all expressed that this training broke the previous extensive maintenance habits and deeply realized the crucial role of meticulous operations in the quality of steel belt repair.
This training has just kicked off. Subsequently, multiple rounds of practical operation reinforcement, process review and technical exchanges will be carried out.
As the local core service base of Berndorf Band, Shanghai Naut Steel Belts has always strictly adhered to the complete technical specifications and quality control system of the headquarters. This time, the detailed on-site teaching by the headquarters' experts has further smoothed the technical channel between the advanced precision engineering technology of the headquarters and the local on-site maintenance, comprehensively enhancing the after-sales maintenance service level of Naut's steel belts.
Going forward, Shanghai Naut Steel Belts will continue to roll out headquarters-led technical training on a regular basis, embedding detailed requirements—such as standardized weld sanding, job site environment control, and proper use of standardized tools—into every maintenance operation. Through refined craftsmanship and standardized services, we are committed to providing customers with durable, reliable full-lifecycle steel belt maintenance solutions. With a strong focus on execution and attention to detail, we aim to set the industry benchmark for after-sales service quality.
