As a core component of industrial conveying, steel belts are prone to cracking and local damage during long-term operation. The welding, patching and maintenance process directly determines the service life of the steel belt and the stability of the production line operation. To enhance the practical maintenance capabilities of front-line personnel, from July 14th to July 17th, Naut organized a series of practical training sessions on steel belt crack repair welding, trapezoidal patching, and carbon steel girth weld welding. All frontline personnel participated in the hands-on exercises, covering the repair processes for multiple steel belt specifications including NAUT-301, NC12.1, and NAUT-CS1300. The training also included validation of thickness measurement standards and in-depth analysis of welding deformation pain points, culminating in the development of standardized practical procedures.

Ⅰ. Day1: Steel Belt Crack Repair: Precise thickness measurement to control the accuracy of foundation welding

   Base material: NAUT-301-1.0

   1. Calibration of thickness measuring instruments

  

   2. Group practical operation inspection: Record the thickness data of each weld point in different zones, collect the thickness difference on both sides of the weld in batches, and uniformly verify the welding flatness.

 

Practical training results

 It fully complies with the quality acceptance standards for steel belt maintenance, and all staff have mastered the standardized procedures for calibration and point detection of ultrasonic thickness gauges.

Ⅱ. Day2: Practical Operation of Stainless Steel Trapezoidal Patching: Distinguish Materials and Identify Deformation Issues

   Base materials: NAUT-301-1.0, NC12.1

   1. According to Berndorf's standard trapezoidal patching process, cut trapezoidal patches, groove and align them, and then weld and shape them.

Ⅲ. Day3: Carbon Steel Trapezoidal patching + Girth Weld Welding: Optimizing the process

V. Achievements in Talent Cultivation

This training adopted a "master-led hands-on practice + new-trainee shadowing" approach. The new trainees followed the masters throughout the 3-day program, covering repairs on various materials and processes. They gained a solid command of the complete operational logic for crack repair welding, trapezoidal patch welding, and girth weld welding, progressively building the capability to work independently. Through group-based hands-on exercises, the trainees also reinforced standardized procedures for thickness measurement, shaping, and sanding.

Steel belt welding repair is a key maintenance process to ensure the continuous operation of production lines. This four-day full-process practical training uses real damaged steel belts as the training carrier, implements standardized detection, welding and shaping processes, and simultaneously sorts out the difficulties and improvement plans for the repair of steel belts of different materials. In the future, we will continue to carry out periodic practical training, accumulate standardized maintenance process manuals, constantly enhance the professional capabilities of the front-line maintenance team, reduce the cost of steel belt replacement, and ensure the stable and efficient operation of the equipment.
