Following the successful Shanghai Naut specialized training program, from July 27 to July 30, Christian Schirnhofer, a senior steel belt after-sales trainer from Berndorf's headquarters in Austria, arrived at Naut Nantong Kewei. He led a four-day intensive workshop focused on high-end steel belt repair, concentrating on two core topics: mirror-finished steel belt patching and standardized welding seam treatment for artificial marble production lines. The training further solidified the implementation of Berndorf’s globally unified maintenance and service standards.
The surface finish requirements for mirror-finished steel belts are extremely stringent, making the repair process highly susceptible to scratches and surface imperfections, which significantly increases the difficulty of restoration. For engineered marble workbench steel belts, which endure continuous heavy pressure and friction over time, the flatness of welds and structural integrity directly determine the quality of the final panel—making this a key challenge in after-sales maintenance. This training session abandoned theoretical discussions entirely, instead delivering immersive, hands-on instruction using actual steel belt samples on-site.
At the training site, Christian adopted a one-on-one demonstration approach, guiding participants in batches through practical exercises. He systematically broke down the entire standardized workflow—from precise measurement and marking of damaged areas, to surface pre-treatment of the steel base material, preparation and mixing of repair materials, standardized welding procedures, controlled grinding of welds, and finally, inspection of flatness and surface smoothness after mirror finishing.
Christian emphasized several critical technical details: maintaining a clean working environment throughout the mirror steel belt repair process, standardizing the direction of grinding to minimize surface damage, strictly controlling welding parameters for engineered marble steel belts, optimizing weld formation techniques to ensure smooth operation after repair, and meeting the demands of long-term continuous production. Trainees carefully observed and took notes throughout, actively engaging in hands-on practice.
During the hands-on training session, participants took turns performing simulated grinding and repair tasks. Christian circulated among them, closely observing each trainee's technique, promptly correcting improper movements, and meticulously verifying every process parameter of the finished products. He provided on-the-spot answers to questions arising during practice and facilitated immediate improvements, ensuring that all trainees thoroughly grasped key technical points and became proficient in repairing two types of high-end steel belts.
This specialized training program in Nantong further strengthened Naut Steel Belts' technical reserves for advanced product maintenance. Going forward, Naut Steel Belts will continue leveraging Berndorf’s global technical resources to continuously standardize and refine its steel belt maintenance processes, delivering high-quality, full-life-cycle service support to customers across various industries through standardized and precision-driven maintenance technologies.
